Family Vacation 2009

Several months ago we started talking about taking a family vacation. The Rouses' and The Fords' were the only families that went to Orange Beach, AL. We had a great time, but wished that all of us could have gone.

On Olivia's birthday we all went on a Dolphin Cruise. When we got back to the dock, some fisherman had caught this 106 lb. Bull Shark.
The kids goofed around all week saying they were checking out guys or girls on the beach. Did you buy your tickets to the gun show?
Have you seen my beach ball? It's thiiiiisssssssss big!

Codie, Ceceley, Olivia, and Jackson have fun catching some waves!Jonathan and Tony just couldn't wait to get to the beach! They had to work on their tan lines!

Codie and Ceceley buried Olivia in the sand.

Easter 2009

Although everyone wasn't able to attend Easter at Granny's this year, those of us who did had a wonderful time. Some of us just enjoyed getting to visit with each other, some enjoyed horseback riding, and others enjoyed it all.

Granny's Climbing Tree

Ceceley, Codie, Keaton, Alexis, Jackson, Olivia, Connor and Trent Logan

At some point or another we have all taken a climb in this tree and it is still going strong. Keaton absolutely loves going to Granny's because of this tree. Climbing is one of his favorite things and this is just about the only opportunity he has to climb a tree. Hopefully it will continue to bring joy to generations to come.

Kacie Turns 27!

Kacie turned 27 on March 12th. We celebrated her birthday with hamburgers and hotdogs at Daddy's on the 13th. She received lots of cards and some very pretty flowers.

More of London

Upper left: view from the London Eye
Upper right: Branden in the pod with his 'reference booklet'
Lower left: Branden and the London Eye ferris wheel in the background!

The London Eye Ferris Wheel in London, England

This is one of the pods on the London Eye ferris wheel...24 people could ride in one pod...you can see about all of London from up in there! Branden and the Jenkins family rode on this while they visited London! I don't think I would make it up that high! But what a view!

England photos-trial

New kid on the block!

I finally made it in here! Have been downloading lots of photos from Branden's trip to England...as soon as I learn how to get them in here, I will post some...
Josh & Deena had their last basketball game Monday night....they had a rough season...and are ready for a much-deserved rest! Brody is getting more and more independent...cannot believe how much he changes from week to week when we get to visit him....
Make this short for now...will learn more later about how to do things!

Can you believe the weather?

The weather today was great! After church we spent most of our day outside. The kids played ball and spent some time playing with our new dog, Killer. Killer was Branden's dog. Since he is in England, we took Killer in as our new dog.

Today's weather makes me anxious for spring!

Christmas 2008

I am a little late in posting about Christmas, but I scrapbooked pictures last night so I thought I would make a post. Here is our family picture at Granny's house on Christmas Eve. We have a great time each year getting together with everyone. My kids like it as much as I do. I will always cherish our family moments like these.

Today we had another Thanksgiving dinner to go to. The boys and I drove up this morning and made a great big day out of it. We picked up Ceceley and Codie and went to Dad and Ruby's. We made it to Pa Glen and Idena's for Thanksgiving lunch around 1:00. Afterward we hung out at Dad and Ruby's again for her jewelry party. We had pizza at Angie's and then went to Granny's for fun and games. While some of us played FLUFF the kids started getting ready for Christmas. They did a wonderful job putting the tree up and getting it decorated. When I asked Connor what had been the best part of the day, he said, "The family." He really enjoys getting to see and play with everyone else.

Thanksgiving Day Fun

After a large meal at Granny's the kids went out to play. They had a fabulous time or at least looked to have one. There was tree climbing, leaf raking and of course burying others in the leaves. Don't they look like they were having a great time?!?

Happy Halloween!

Albert Einstein and a mysterious vampire made the rounds this Halloween. Connor wanted a costume that would win the costume contest in the after school program. He wanted to be Scream. I finally made him realize that was too original. He decided on Einstein after a visit to Party One. Keaton started talking about vampires or at least he would say "vampire" and growl whenever Halloween was mentioned so we thought it only fitting that he be a vampire. Connor actually won the contest for 2nd graders in the after school program. YEAH!! We went trunk-or-treating at Living Hope Church (our neighbor's church) and then Connor had a Halloween party to go to at a friend's house. They boys had a great time. I ended the night completely exhausted.

Jackson's Orchard

The boys love going to Jackson's Orchard to get a pumpkin every fall. I love going to get a carmel apple with nuts. YUMMY!! The boys had a great time. They both love playing around on all the hay. Keaton tried picking up lots of pumpkins before finding just the right one. He got a small one and Connor selected a large one. We haven't carved them yet but Keaton has tried with a butter knife more than once. We drew a jack-o-latern face on Keaton's and he packed it around with him yesterday afternoon. He is so excited about Halloween. He has talked about monsters and vampires a bunch lately. Wonder what he'll be for Halloween! Happy Fall!

Fall Break

Tony & I took the kids to Chattanooga on Fall Break. We saw Rock City, went to Ruby Falls and the Aquarium. The weather was great and the kids had a really good time. Here are the kids under the mushroom rock and me and the kids during a rest break.

More Fall Break Action

Although we didn't go off on vacation during Fall Break, we did have some fun. I took the boys over to my friend's house to swim. The water was great! (They had the heater on.) They had a great time.

Ceceley's New Smile

Well it is Ceceley's turn to have braces. It seems everyone else in the family has already had their turn. Maybe after a few days we'll be able to understand what she says when she talks.

Fall Break Fun!!

Fall is in the air, or at least it is beginning to look a little more likefall. Angie and the kids started their fall break early this week. The boys and I just started our break today. None of us had anything exciting planned. I thought I'd take advantage of the beautiful weather and the pretty colors and get a few pictures of the kids. Of course Codie was done before we even got started. Connor always wants to make a silly picture and Keaton may or may not look at the camera. Overall, I think the few I was able to get aren't half bad.

Flag Football Saturday!!

Connor has been waiting all year for Flag Football. He started talking about playing back before baseball sign-ups. Today was his first game. It was a great success, 30-6!! Connor played quarter back and wide receiver (I think). He caught the ball and ran for a touch down. HE MADE IT!! I'll try to get some better action shots next time. This was the best one I got today and he was running over for a drink. Connor wanted to make sure I let everyone know that he also pulled two flags today. He says that was good defense. Connor plays every Saturday in October and November. Most games are around 10:00 or 11:00. Let us know if you're in town and can make it to one. GO CAVALIERS!!
